Review of lens-assisted beam steering methods

چکیده
Lens-assisted beam steering (LABS) has emerged as a promising solution for compact chip-based optical light detection and ranging (LiDAR) applications. In LABS system, is steered within an integrated chip emitted at desired location. This focused out into the scene with lens, analogous to camera operating in reverse. systems offer many advantages compared competing technologies such solid-state reliability, simple control, compactness, fast random access scanning. Different methods are described compared. Most demonstrated thus far have small arrays, therefore, only relatively number of possible locations. It important understand how these will scale much larger arrays needed practical LiDAR system.

Broadband Beam Steering
A solid-state broadband beam deflector is described. This non-mechanical system steers spatially coherent broad band light to a common location in the far field. The components include a liquid crystal grating and achromatic Fourier transformer. The liquid crystal grating employs a polarization modulation scheme which produces a wavelength independent phase shift. The achromatic Fourier transfo...
متن کاملReduction of Internal Reflections in Inte- Grated Lens Antennas for Beam-steering
The conventional integrated lens antennas (ILAs) for beam steering suffer from internal reflections that deteriorate the scanning properties. The internal reflections are known to affect side lobes, cross-polarisation level, input impedance of the feed, and mutual coupling. In this paper, ILAs are designed to exhibit very low reflection loss, i.e., to minimize the internal reflections. Wide ran...
متن کاملUsing Optimized Eccentricity Rexolite Lens for Electrical Beam Steering with Inte- Grated Aperture Coupled Patch Array
Design and measurement results of a beam-steering integrated lens antenna at 77 GHz are presented. An 8-element LTCC aperture coupled patch antenna feed array with a switching network is used to electrically steer the main beam in H-plane. A 100-mm diameter Rexolite (εr = 2.53) lens is simulated and tested. The eccentricity of the lens is optimized in an earlier work with ray-tracing simulation...
